Bullfinches are bud-eating specialists. Their short, stubby beaks are perfectly adapted to feed on fruit trees in early Spring and can eat up to 30 buds per minute.
This representation features the very striking and stout bullfinch nestled amongst cherry buds and blossoms. It is made of various intricate layers for depth, and the bud branch is crafted from complementary cherry wood with faux pearl flower center detail. He measures a grand 7.4 cm H x 7 cm W — a nice statement size, yet not too chunky and lightweight to wear. The brooch is secured to a safety scroll stainless steel bar.
